Greek Sail and Hike
SAIL THE SEAS OF “THE ODYSSEY.” LEAVE A TRAVELER. RETURN A HERO.
9 Days | Athens + Aegean Sea, Greece
“Happy is the man, I thought, who, before dying, has the good fortune to sail the Aegean sea.”
– Nikos Kazantzakis, Zorba the Greek
Greece, the ancient land of mythical gods and goddesses. Zeus, Herakles, Aphrodite. Where the cradle of western civilization was born in its philosophers. Aristotle, Plato, Socrates. Though when we think of Greece, it is its waters that call to us. The tranquil blue waters of the Aegean Sea are soothing beyond compare. Come with us as we set a course through some of the most beautiful and pristine Greek islands. Like seafarers of a bygone era, explore both by water and land. An idyllic way to do it is aboard a private sailboat.
We are offering a truly timeless sail and hike experience that can be curated to your wishes. Our team is happy to attend to every detail. This adventure is perfect for families, small groups, and those who want to truly unplug away from crowds.
Special activities on offer include mindful nature hikes. Maybe you would like to try your hand at Greek cooking or perhaps dancing at a local taverna. If you want to explore the sea’s fabled underwater world, we can arrange that too.
As you sail from island to island, Maria will guide you on a profoundly reflective inner journey. One that is personalized to create an experience that opens you to connect in a more heartful way to yourouter journey. The price varies depending on the time of year, the number of guests, and special requests.
YASOU! TIME TO EAT AND DRINK
In Greece, food is life, and life is food. Known for its freshly caught seafood, feta cheese made from sheep’s milk, kalamata olives grown in the region of its name, and of course, Ouzo! Your adventure begins in Athens by enjoying an exquisitely prepared traditional Greek dinner at a taverna overlooking the Acropolis. Seeing its Parthenon lit up by lights is a sight to behold, especially as a bouzouki player strums in the background. Your first moments of this adventure are already calling you to savor them.
(RE)SET YOUR COMPASS
Your first exploration is on land, visiting Athens’ most monumental sites. The Acropolis. The Parthenon. Panathinaikon Stadium, the stadium where the first Olympic games were in 1896. Wind through its old town streets, filled with souvenir Greek flags, toy hoplites soldiers for the kids, worry beads for the adults. Calling from corner carts are bakers selling freshly made koulouri, sesame covered bread rings. You are in it, then get to escape it.
Like James Bond, you head off on a high-speed ferry to an offshore island where a sailboat awaits us. Anchors away! The next several days can only be described as a journey of discovery.
ISLAND MAGIC
Our sailboat will take you to the pristine Cycladic Islands of Kythros, Sifnos, Milos, Folegandros.
All are known for their natural sandy beaches, idyllic villages, extraordinary geological formations, hidden caves, and spectacular views. Indeed, the antidote for our stressful everyday lives.
LAND AND SEA
No sailing experience necessary. Those who are already familiar boating are welcome to help the skipper — a perfect time to perfect the art of sailing.
Hikers should be fit. Average walks are three to five hours over dirt tracks, mule paths, or sand.
